This picture is actually illegal. It was taken by Jill and not me, which means it really shouldn't be the picture of the day. However, it was just too good. And with the getup on, I just couldn't take the picture myself. I know this is a slippery slope and I apologize. I promise to take every picture from this point on.
Now, to explain. I attended a grand opening of a new athletic club downtown where the main focus in on golf. I am not a golfer. My main focus was the free champagne. But I digress. At the party you could practice your strokes as well as do this really cool thing where you could see your virtual self on the computer screen and analyze your stroke. Now, no one wants to analyze my stroke. I don't golf. However, I never pass up a cool opportunity to try something new. Plus, none of the real golfers were volunteering to strap the gear on. I wonder why. (See photo above.)
So, without sounding too crude...I strapped it on. And actually didn't do half bad, according the virtual stroke expert who helped perfect my stroke.
As a funny sidenote, Mike Bloomberg was also attending this lovely event. And to make things funnier, he was actually standing right outside the frame of this picture, watching me attempt to "golf" with a rather bemused expression. Because it was a loud cocktail party atmosphere, I mouthed the words to him, "I can't golf." He mouthed back. "That's ok." I imagine it was.
